Product DescriptionKingpin of this cellar in Chile's Colchagua Valley is Adolfo Hurtado, who has won 'Winemaker of the Year' four times, most recently in 2008. His wines have won numerous awards too, including six Golds at the Challenge International du Vin in 2003. Adolfo is very environmentally aware, providing bikes for all the staff for getting to and from work and around the vineyards. Indeed, he is proud that his cellar was the first to be given CarbonNeutral status. Adolfo has used the much-loved Merlot grape for this wine, the top dog variety of Bordeaux's right bank, most famous in the wines of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. It provides lots of plump, juicy plum and damson character. |
