Product DescriptionSteeped in heritage, Chateau Lagrezette is set among some of the oldest vineyards in France. The impressive estate was built in the 15th Century on the foundations of a 12th century fortified house. Current owner, diamond-magnate Alain Dominique Perrin bought the property 25 years ago and has invested great time and energy ( ...and money!) to restoring the property to its former winemaking glory. Assisted by renowned wine consultant Michel Rolland, Alain-Dominique produces incredibly concentrated wines of magnificent complexity. This dense and silken red is made from 100% Malbec - a variety first planted here more than 500 years ago! Long-lived and powerful, Chateau Lagrezette has received high praise in the press - notably from Robert Parker and Hugh Johnson. "Purple-stained dark red. By no means an old fashioned 'black' Cahors, mulberry and blackberry - scented, grainy and almost soft, but with gently abrasive tannins, scrubbing the palate without a bite. Beautifully-made wine, carrying its aromas all the way to a long finish." Hugh Johnson |
