Product Description

Introducing perhaps the most talked-about red in our tasting room ... Stoney Creek! Gorgeously soft, fruity and full of ripe cherry and raspberry, it's a seriously addictive drop, and there's nothing quite like it in the UK right now. So what makes it so special ... and rare? It's a unique cuvee chiefly made with soft, fruity Tarrango ... an Aussie grape that produces lights, juicy reds in the hot climate there. Stoney Creek is made by the excellent Victorian Alps Winery, whose top wines received a Five-Star rating in James Halliday's Aussie Wine Guide 2008. The team, including innovative winemaker Andrew Vesey, wanted to make a red that was as fruity as possible, so they applied the techniques used by Beaujolais' best to make their wines soft, juicy and velvet smooth ... think supple Pinot Noir, Cru Beaujolais and you'll be along the right lines - but a touch of Shiraz gives spicy body. Try it now while stocks last! Super-ripe black cherry and raspberry, with a hint of peppery spice. Great with roast duck, but also an ideal glass on its own, lightly chilled.
