Blackcurranty Cabernet is added to seductive Bonarda "Argentina's unacknowledged star ... silky, ripe fruit" (The Guardian) Italian in origin, as is the quality-obsessed close-knit community of growers here. Vines were brought to the valley last century and the full-flavoured grapes are still handpicked from small, high vineyard plots, where hot days, cool nights and low rainfall enhance the grapes' colour and aroma.
