We've never stocked a more potent beast ... but it's the mouthfilling fruit and smoothness which will impress you most. That's because this is a first class red made by multi award-winning duo Franz Smit and Jacques Erasmus. First step was to select a sun-trap vineyard near Montagu, Western Cape (355 days of sunshine a year!). Next trick for a 'biggie' is to delay harvest until the very last moment - optimum ripeness is key. Then the fruit is picked by hand in the cool first light of morning (this keeps it fruit fresh and aromatic). Only the fact that leopards roam the vineyards by night prevented the team from an even earlier start! "Smoky red fruit aromas and a warming mouthful of cassis, blackberries and plums.
