This Canon PowerShot SX40 digital camera is ideal for taking high quality pictures. The SX40 is a versatile superzoom camera that comes in a compact, black case. This 12.1 megapixel camera comes with a 24mm ultra wide-angle 35x optical zoom that enables you to sweeping landscape shots and long range closes of wildlife. An optional lens filter adapter allows you to attach 67mm lens filters from Canons EOS range if you wish to expand its capabilities. There's also a hot-shoe that enables you to use Canon Speedlite EX flash units to increase the flash range. This Canon camera has a 2.7" vari-angle PureColor II VA LCD screen that provides you with excellent visibility and enables you to easily frame scenes from difficult angles. There's an electronic viewfinder that gives you a steady frame when aiming this camera. You can use one of the 32 preset scene modes, 21 in movie mode to help you take the perfect picture. This camera has a 1/3200 p/s shutter speed and a 2.4fps continuous shooting speed. You can also record Full HD 1080p movies with stereo sound at 24fps to allow you to take cinematic quality videos, and the HDMI-CEC connection allows for lossless viewing when you play your recordings on your TV. This camera can capture split second action in full 12.1 megapixel resolution at up to 10.3 shots/sec for up to 8 shots using High Speed Burst HQ mode to give you SLR like capability.The SX40 comes with multi-area white balance to compensate for the presence of multiple light sources, giving you pictures that reveal all their natural colours. Manual modes enable you to take control of the exposure. You can choose your own settings, altering the aperture, shutter speed, white balance and ISO to create artistic results. With PC download software you can upload your results onto your computer, and with Pictbridge you can send your pictures straight to a printer.
